Description
Sterling silver ring with natural bright blue Australian boulder opal from our mine. There are natural flaws in this opal which has been electroformed to a sterling silver band.
Electroforming involves a process whereby silver dust is painted around the stone and then it is suspended in a silver cyanide solution where silver is electro deposited as a thick layer of fine silver. It is then sanded and polished the same as a casting.
