Description
Red and orange flash through this natural Australian boulder opal from our mine in western Queensland. This opal has been electroformed with sterling silver to create this ring. Comes with a free silver polishing cloth.
Stone size:16mm long x 10mm wide
Ring size: US10 1/2 or GB size V
Electroforming involves a process whereby silver dust is painted around the stone and then it is suspended in a silver cyanide solution where silver is electro-deposited as a thick layer of fine silver. It is then sanded and polished the same as a casting.
