Description
This wood replacement boulder opal is from our mine in western Queensland. The colours of bright blue and green flash from between the ironstone and illmunite lines of the opal. This opal has an undulating polished face.
Wood replacement occurs in our mines where wood and plant material were deposited amongst the heavier sediments. When the ground became silicified some of this material was replaced with precious opal.
Stone size: 29.6mm long x 17mm wide x 5.4mm thick and weighs 24.76cts
