Description
Green flecks sparkle from this natural Australian pipe opal from our mine in western Queensland. There is a small amount of sandstone on the side of this opal to enhance it’s character. This opal is set in solid 9k yellow gold with swinging bail and comes with a hard gold plated chain.
Stone size: 19mm long x 5.5mm wide
Pendant size: 26mm long x 6mm wide x 4.5mm thick
Pipe opal occurs when fragments of tree roots or any organic material are trapped in sediments on an opal level and in time some of resulting cavities are replaced by potch or precious opal.
