A few words about us…

We find, mine and process our own stones…

Opal Endeavours was originally established in 1990. We obtained our first mine in 1996 and are proud to continue mining our own Queensland Boulder Opal today. We professionally cut and polish our stones to supply wholesalers and the jewellery trade as well as directly to the public.

We spend time mining out in the field and then bring the rough material back to Brisbane where we process it with care and pride before allowing it to be sold.

We also mine Queensland Fairy Opal which is found in association with Pipe Opal. In the raw state the opal is not always visible in the sandstone and some material needs to be carbonised (blackened) to bring out the colour. Other pieces are left in their natural colour. Fairy Opal is sometimes soft and therefore all material is stabilised with a polymer resin to maintain strength and durability.
