Bright flecks of orange and green are constant in this natural Australian pipe opal. Pipe opal occurs when old tree roots in the sandstone has been replaced by precious opal. The sandstone on the back of this opal has been stabilised with a polymer resin to give it durability. There are small sandstone inclusions in the face of the opal.
