Description
Solid Queensland sandstone matrix opal displaying sparkles of red amongst other colours. This also has solid pipes down the face of the showing pastel colours. This piece has been carbonised (blackened) to bring out the colour of the opal. It is found on the Queensland opal fields in association with pipe opal. It has been stabilised with polymer resin to maintain strength and durability.
