Description
Natural Australian boulder opal from our mine in western Queensland showing sparkles of green and orange. It has an undulating face which has been highly polished. This opal has been electroformed in fine silver with a sterling silver bail. It comes with a solid sterling silver 45cm long chain and free silver polishing cloth.
Electroforming involves a process whereby silver dust is painted around the stone and then it is suspended in a silver cyanide solution where silver is electro deposited as a thick layer of fine silver. It is then sanded and polished the same as a casting.
