Description
Quality crafted opal pendant with cast swinging bail in 925 sterling silver and rhodium plated to prevent tarnishing. The opal is a natural and rare Australian wood replacement boulder opal with an orange rolling flash (not a doublet). The opal is from our mine in the Quilpie district in western Queensland.
Wood replacement occurs in our mines where wood and plant material were deposited amongst the heavier sediments. When the ground became silicified some of this material was replaced with precious opal.
